I Wrote This At Midnight.
Hey again- what's going on everybody. Here's this week's installment of "Stuff You Might Not Have Noticed If I Didn't Write It Right Here."
The Flim Fest 08 archival project is finished. At least here on the Not A Tad Bad end- if there's any future media posted online I'll be sure to log it at the Flim Fest 08 page. The final list on the page includes a ton of videos, photos, and more- not to mention the Flim Fest 08 Bootleg. Check it out- it's an EP of some live recordings. Seriously- it's a free download of some music, so why not? There's some great bands on there. I also recently added some clips Hello Ninja playing, so check that out too.
On some maintenance-level news, I split the Archives section into a 2008 and 2007 section to make scrolling through easier. Hope that helps anybody out who's in need of a nostalgia fix.
Enjoy Autumn everyone- and you BETTER be prepping for Halloween.
Miss you already Brendan!

BIG Update
Well, there's certainly some stuff to update everyone on, so I best get crackin'. Here's the news:
Flim Fest 08 was absurdly amazing this year. Don't believe me? Fine, we've got documented evidence. Check out the Flim Fest 08 page for videos, photos, and mp3s (coming soon, I'm going to make a bootleg of sorts from the night). Here's the highlight video for your pleasure!
The quicklink section to your left has also been changed around a bit- there's links to the Flim Fest 07 and 08 pages now on our front page. Thanks go out to everyone who helped document the night- it's been a big mission of ours (along with all the others) for this year's fest, so thanks for giving us some tangible memories.
I'm trying to give the site a more uniform look too, so if you have any suggestions/complaints, email us at NotATadBad@notatadbad.net.
Our YouTube channel recently hit 400 subscribers- woot! That's pretty cool when you think about it. We haven't made content that regularly for the channel but we seem to constantly be gaining more attention on it so we must be doing something right. Cheers.
Oh, and the "Hip Hop, Cherry Pop" DVD? It's done. Really. You can buy it. Really, I mean it- here. It's a simple PayPal setup- and as soon as you put your order through ($10 for the DVD stuffed with featured) I'll send one to your door. We've got about 30 left, so order now while you still can!
See- big update. And I didn't even cover everything, but who cares. We might have a new movie online within a week or so, hope you folks enjoy it when it's ready. It's going to be the first flim to complete a trilogy. May that be your hint.

Thanks everybody, this was the best year yet.

Tick Tock, Tick Tock
T-minus 11 Days.
Been checking your papers lately? Flim Fest has been mentioned in a few papers around the South Shore, including the Patriot Ledger (the article is coming this week). If you check the Flim Fest 08 page, I'll be posting any material I can there.
In other news, we've been gathering up every video for the festival along with the appropriate accessories for such an occasion (TJ, Neil, and I have been working on a big projection screen for this year). Crossing the T's, dotting the I's, that kind of thing. It's going to be an interesting two weeks ahead, I assure you. Here's hoping everything works out ok. This is less a news bulletin a more a sigh of tiredness, so wish us luck.
Here's a look at a banner TJ spray painted last night. Looks spiffy, ey?
Oh, and the "Hip Hop, Cherry Pop" DVD is being sent out this week for mass production. Looks like we'll have it at Flim Fest 08- prepare to be amazed.

Did You See The Dark Knight?!
Only a few weeks left: T-minus 26 Days.
In cool news, Joe and I recently conducted phone interviews with the Pembroke Reporter. I also got us mentioned in the Kingston Reporter too, so this upcoming weekend you should see Not A Tad Bad featured in both papers (NEAT!). I'll post scans if I can this weekend.
In comradery-news, our friend and fellow movie maker Craig Shannon at Imagavision films recently got a fully-fledged website going over at Imagavision Films to check his work out (some of it's being shown at Flim Fest).
Oh, and here's the third Flim Fest ad. It's no 90s Genesis parody, but what is? Enjoy.

New Flim Stills
Surprise! Here's a look into the newest Flim of Fear, which has been half-assedly titled: "The Horridly Horrible Depths of Maddening Madness!"
This will be up sometime in the next week or so. It's part of our effort to do a handful of spooky movies this summer, the Flims of Fear. It's actually a spoof of an old Lovecraft story. You'll notice that one character in the above photo has their face distorted... you'll see what surprise we've got in store when this one's done cooking.

UPDATE:
The video is up on FoolTube, check 'er out!

A Peak At The Ads, Plymouth Rock Studios
Here's a twofer for today: a peak at some of the flim fest ads and a project put together for Plymouth Rock Studios: a new movie studio being built RIGHT HERE on the South Shore. Pretty neat, huh?
Well, for starters, here's some screen grabs of some of the flim fest ads including the one Dana and I shot the other day as well as a look at one TJ, Brendan, Mike, and I put together tonight. Both will be up in about a week, so keep your eyes on the site!
Here's the promo video I worked on alongside Ryan Murphy and Neil Cicierega, enjoy! It's for Plymouth Rock Studios' Hollywood East, check out the link for more info on what promises to be a BIG boom to the culture of the South Shore.

Here's one more sneak peak at another flim fest ad, enjoy!

Flim Fest Ads/News Coming In Two Weeks
Today Mr. Dana Cataldo and I headed out to the mean streets of Plymouth to shoot the first of what we here at NATB hope to be many ads for this year's Flim Fest. We're really going to try and advertise this one via internet ads, newspaper coverage, interviews, local TV spots, that kind of thing. On the night of June 10th we should be able to confirm and post a lot of news on the showing this year, so come back to the site on June 11th to see what we've got along with an ad or two!

New Flim & Summer Movie Details
Hey, looks like we're going to have a new flim up by this time next week. Affectionately and tentatively titled "The Bat Movie," this one will feature Joe, TJ, myself, and Brendan in a good old fashion 5-10 minute short. Here's hoping you guys like it. We'll be shooting it on Wednesday night, so I'll post some stills from the shoot early on Thursday.
In other news, we're getting a really good idea of what our summer movie is going to be. We've got a ton of ideas but we still need to hammer out some specifics for the movie. It's looking really solid though, we hope you guys get a kick out of it. I doubt we'll have a trailer or anything ready until late June, but I think we'll probably have a video blog going again on this one. As soon as we can announce a title (AKA: As soon as we have one) we'll have a section for the movie under the Flimography section. Until then, look to the sky.
UPDATE: "The Bat Movie" wont be shot tonight, which stinks. We'll let you know when it happens- hopefully sooner rather than later.

Flim Fest 2008
It's here. Well, maybe not yet, but it's coming this August. August 16th, to be precise.
This year's festival is going to be a full-day event, including music, photography, art, animation, kickball, and of course: movies. Over the next few months we'll be populating the internet with a few short spots for the Flim Fest, not to mention garnering newspaper coverage for the event. We sincerely can't wait for that amazing night in August, but until then keep your eyes on this website for updates on Flim Fest 08. We have a page dedicated to the event (including submissions) right here under our Flim Fest section, so check it out!! We can't stand the wait.
-Kevin
PS: Joe, TJ, and I have begun talking about the big summer flim. We might have some info up on the site within a few weeks, hope you guys like what we cook up!

Last night's screening was a rather huge success! "Hellbound"
opened up the evening courtesy of the Lesley Film Maker's Club, warming
up audiences with some old-school flim stylings. Later on, after a
plethora of shorts from some of AiB and Lesley's finest, the new and
improved cut of "Hip Hop, Cherry Pop" was shown to a rather appreciative crowd- glad to see you guys liked it so much!
Here are a few choice photos from the night, courtesy of Andrea York- enjoy!
-Kevin

And here you have it everybody: "Hellbound."
We also managed to put up a better looking and sounding version of the movie here, so if I were you I'd just watch it that way. But that's just me. And I'm weird.
Now I've got to say I'm speaking for Joe on this one too) this movie is a real treat to watch. The whole thing is really a send up to our first half dozen movies we made back in high school, so if any of you notice the references we make and that sort of thing, take pride in knowing your history.
Also, check out this humorous email I got from Joe regarding the title and teaser of the movie. Enjoy the movie everybody, let us know what you think!
-Kevin

So, here's the news for this week:
This Friday we'll be screening the new and improved cut of "Hip Hop, Cherry Pop," complete with the AWESOME final title sequence Joe and I put together this week. It should be a treat, hope to see some of you folks there.
"Hellbound" is going to be put together by Tuesday most likely, until then here's a screen or two from the amazing movie.
Joe and I talked about what we think could turn out to be our big summer 2008 flim, but details are scarce for the moment. Our big objective is to make more 5-10 minute movies to accompany a bigger flim as opposed to making one jumbo movie with a few 1-2 minute movies again. We'll have some info here as soon as we know what we've got cooking.
In bigger/final news: Joe has begun piecing together The Royalty Free Music Ring
on MySpace. The mission of the ring is to unite independent movie
makers and musicians alike in the hopes of gaining exposure for the
bands and solid music for the movie makers. Check out the ring for
details- and invite all your movie and band buddies too. It's a really
solid idea, and its a really great way to strengthen your artistic
networking, so check it out!
-Kevin
3-16-08
Here's a sneak peak at a short flim Joe and I shot the other day. It should be up soon- enjoy the teaser!
(The full movie is due online in about a week, hope you all enjoy it!)
-Kevin
3-6-08
Hey everybody. Here's some details on the next screening we'll be attending! (Facebook Link)
What? Lesley Film Maker's Independant Film Fest
Where The Marran Theatre, Cambridge, MA
When Friday, March 28, 2008 at 10:00pm
The night is looking very promising, we hope to see some of you folks there! (Bring a college ID if you have one!)
In other news, the "Hip Hop, Cherry Pop" DVD is coming along nicely. We're nearing the final DVD to be mass produced, with just a few small items left. Joe has a few thumbnails he'd like to share, but the final art wont be spoiled until the DVD is ready, so take a peak!

Man, this site's certainly being kept concurrent recently, hasn't it? I attribute that mainly to the fact I've been at my computer a lot more in recent weeks, working on the DVD, edits, that sorta thing. Speaking of which, I'm currently throwing together a little something special for those who were looking forward to "The Never-Ending Zombie Movie: Part 3." It's going to be screened at Flim Fest 08, I'm sure of it. Hopefully you all enjoy it.
If
you take a peek around the site, Joe was able to grab some pictures of
some Flim shirts from his buddy Katrina, so check 'em out. Here's one,
the other three pictures are here, here, and here.
So, there you go folks. We also will have some news this week on a screening we're attending in late March (we'll be showing a newer cut of ""Hip Hop, Cherry Pop"" and possibly selling our sharp DVDs). Keep an eye on the site, we love you.
-Kevin
2-26-08
So let's see, news today... oh, well I successfully made the first Beta DVD of "Hip Hop, Cherry Pop" tonight, so that rocks. We're going to send a few copies around to the flim crew and see what the guys think, and when we've got a consensus its a solid disc they'll be made available on our little site here. Here's a laundry list of features for the disc:
- A Behind the Scenes featurette spanning the shooting of the movie
- An 8 minute Blooper Reel
- The Trailer in stunning Standard-def!
- The Worst Ways To Die 6-9
- Two Photo Galleries showing off the premier of the flim as well as stills
- A Commentary track from Joe & Kevin
There's a bunch of other stuff on the disc, but none of it has been committed to the disc yet (it's just a manner of editing/gathering videos from some friends), so rest assured this disc shall rock the socks. Stay tuned for DVD info and news on Flim Fest 08 during the first week of March!

Well, here we are on the eve of Valentine's Day: the most sacred of all holidays here in the US of A. Here at NATB, we've been doing some bureaucratic work in effort to secure the location for Flim Fest 08 (info should be hitting the site within a few weeks).
In the mean time, check out the section we're working on for all of our Flim Fests from years past. We're working on fleshing it out to include photos, stories, and rundowns for every showing we've had spanning back into 2004, so here's to history everybody.
-Kevin
1-23-08
Greetings everyone- make it into 2008 ok? Yeah? Good to hear from you.
We've made a few small alterations to the site (look around to see them all, you'll be glad you did). Alongside a slightly different news page look, we've added a new link to our Community page. The next step is going to be organizing a time-liberated Flim Fest section, with articles and media covering every screening we've ever had. This section will also include a sneak peak at Flim Fest 08, which is already looking rather spectacular (really- its already shaping up for August 9th we think).
Keep your eyes peeled everyone, we'll have more info as it comes. Enjoy 2008 everyone.
-Kevin
